I started seeing Magdalene for counselling in February 2021. It was my first time trying out therapy and I'm grateful I got matched with her. She is very understanding and made me feel comfortable from day one. In addition, because we share the same christian faith I was able to share with her mental health challenges that intersected with christianity, without any judgement or rebuke. I love how I could unpack any topic in our sessions, regardless of what the original goal of starting therapy was. Lastly, I love how Magdalene is both professional and compassionate. Before starting therapy, I was very hard on myself and never really practiced self-care. She helped me uncover the unhealthy mindsets that I had, but also taught me how to correct them. Through her, I learnt the importance of being kind to myself and how to be intentional about it. She taught me how to only focus on what I can control especially when I experience anxious thoughts.
